14 weeks: Baby Pavey Update

Well its been another week and it seems as if things are going well.  Since I can’t seem to fall asleep I thought I would post a quick update about week 14.  Quoted From Baby center

14-lemon*The baby is now the size of a lemon

How your baby’s growing:

This week’s big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he’ll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you’re having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby’s stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body’s growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that’s in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He’s starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby’s liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it’s doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can’t feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist’s hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Other Updates:

Cravings: CHEESE!! string cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, cream cheese… you get the point :)

Fruit: Grapes and berries really, smoothies and shakes, though haven’t sent justin out to get me any.. YET!.. :)

Potatoes: Mostly still just tater totts :)

Feeling: Still getting my energy back, and now I am done with my photo jobs until the beginning of August! I am preparing to go on a long trip back to WA which I am very excited for.  I will try to keep up with the blog, though I can’t make any promises!   Justin and I are both thankful for our neighbors who are watching our house for us, though Justin will be here almost the whole time.

Fun gifts: I have been collecting all the cards and gifts we have started to receive and it is so much fun! We have received the tiniest little rattle, baby shampoo, a teddy bear and the softest baby blanket.. I’m sure I am just extra sentimental, but everything for the baby just seems soooo cute.

Favorite Outings: We have gone to chipotle twice in the past 2 weeks and I have LOVE the lime chips! (wow this is turning out to be all about food. haha) AND we have continued our Saturday morning wegmans breakfast outing, egg sandwich, chocolate chip muffin and cappuccino freeze. yum! (This is the one way justin gets me to wake up early on saturdays and go grocery shoppign with him, which has become our favorite date of the week!) Now a running joke in our family, our favorite store is Wegmans… Long story..

Anyhow, this turned into a longer post than I meant it to be.. In summary, we are thankful for this blessing the Lord has given us, and ask for your prayer for a healthy baby! I am still worried every day that everything is going ok, though I know the Lord is in control.  Thank you friends and family for checking in, and for my wonderful clients, thank you for all of the business! If you are waiting on your photos I will continue to work on your DVDS and they will be with you as soon as I have a chance.  Thank you for your patience!

Baby Update: Fairfax Newborn Photographer

13-medium-shrimp

Well its just about 13 weeks and according to Baby Center, this is how big Baby Pavey is..

“How your baby’s growing: Week 13″

Fingerprints have formed on your baby’s tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you’re having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Now a little update according to our side of things:

Cravings:

Cheese (yum!), yougurt & berries, tater totts, eggs and ketchup (sounds grose but justin makes a mean tater tott egg combo!), and rootbeer!

Overall feeling:

I’m starting to get my energy back, and finding it easier to do simple household chores, and get back into my photo shoots.  Normally I feel the ‘morning sickness’ the most when I have not eaten enough…

What Projects we are working on:

Well, with the crib put together I only thought it right to buy some bedding :) One for its a girl, and one for if its a boy (Of course I will return the one that we don’t use) Here the two are!

Girl: Brooke Nursery Bedding: Pottery Barn Kids (I’m still trying to convince Justin this could work for a boy too, though he’s not buying it) hahah

Boy:  Space Crib Bedding (Target)

Thats all for now, come back for some previews of the last few photo shoots I have had this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Setting Up the Nursery: Baby Pavey

Wow, I feel so special to have so many friends and family share our excitement about baby Pavey! Since this is both my photography business and family blog I will try not to overwhelm you all with ‘baby news’, but at least moms are my biggest clients! :) I’ve asked Justin to do a post or two on here, we’ll see if he will ;) Hes a great writer, and of course is much more witty than I am, thats why hes always the one to write the Christmas letters.  Anyhow, he has a fun perspective on the whole thing, and I love his versions/side of the story. I’ll bug him to write something sometime next week.

For now, heres a couple of photos of the ‘crib set up’.  What was funny was, we originally had the idea to set it up in our room so we could (i could) watch tv while he was putting it together.. Well once it was all assembled (1 hour later) we realized it wouldn’t fit through the door!  hahah so we tried taking the door off (my idea), that didn’t work, so the situation became a little less funny.. Though he came up with just taking off the back of the crib, and it worked! Anyhow, a very long story for a simple, we have the crib assembled! I will take some photos of it in the nursery soon and post them as well.

Life Update Part 2: Fairfax newborn photography

photo-1RGIts official, we are having a baby in December! Right now they are thinking December 30th, maybe a new years eve baby?

Will update more later, but after officially hearing the heart beat yesterday, 175, we are realizing this is more real! Since we are both excited we have been of course overly prepared. Yesterday Justin set up the crib! Check back later to see what we have been working on..
